Accutane and Lasers Part Two

I recently asked about undergoing laser treatments for scars in between accutane cycles. You said that if cystic acne returns than I should go back on the accutane again and completely finish the job. What if my acne returns but not in cystic form? Does that change anything? What are the main reasons for waiting until completely done with accutane before going to the laser procedures? If it’s just the worry that new acne may cause scarring after, I did say that I’m okay with only a few scars, my cystic acne was beginning to die down and I haven’t noticed that type yet. Any information would be great!

If you still have breakouts that bother you and are not controlled by topical treatments, I would recommend that you undergo another accutane course. You may want to try to use Clearogen to see if your acne is controlled with a topical treatment.

After you have been completely clear from acne, then you would initiate scar treatment. Topical peels which are very light can be started earlier than 6 months after you discontinue Accutane.
