Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Saw Palmetto Extract

Name: John
Question:

In the cleanser ingredient list there is ammonium lauryl sulfate listed. From many resources I have learned that lauryl sulfate is a skin irritant. Wouldn’t this be a disadvantage?

Also, saw palmetto extract is listed as one of the ingredients in the lotion. A previous question was does the saw palmetto interfere with birth control efficacy, and the answer given was that Clearogen does NOT contain saw palmetto and thus won’t interfere with birth control pills. This is exactly contradictory to the information given on this website. Could you explain this please?

Thanks.

Dear John,

Clearogen has Saw Palmetto and its extracts including ethyl laurate and beta-sito-sterol. This give Clearogen the anti-DHT effect locally on the skin without systemic effects (throughout the body) since it does not get into the bloodstream.

ALS is a mild component of the cleansr and it is not a very common irritant. The soothing botanicals in Clearogen cleanser more than control any irritation from normal cleansing of the skin.
