Is it really DHT
Name: D. Knepshield
Question:
Your statements about DHT being behind acne are very interesting.
I had never heard that before, so I did some reading about DHT and acne. I discovered that several doctors believe more that acne is an "inflammatory" condition and should be treated as such.
What are your views and opinions in regards to this?
Dear D,
Acne starts with DHT and leads to inflammation. That is why we also have anti-inflammatory medication Salicylic Acid in Clearogen.
The development of acne is as follows:
DHT stimulates the oil glands that product too much oil
Oil obstructs the pores and builds up.
The bacteria sets in and breaks down the oils, causing inflammation. (redness and pain)
Immune response worsens the inflammation. (Pus formation, redness and pain)
This is a medical fact not our theory. All doctors know about this which is why for some women who suffer from sever acne birth control and sprinolactone are prescribed that work directly on reducing DHT production.
