Acne Treatment - Clearogen

synthetic anti-androgens

Name: john hemer
Question:

since there are several compounds that have been found to be relatively effective anti-androgens when applied topically, why not use one of these more powerful substances as part of you system instead of botanicals that have relatively little effect. granted studies of these when used to treat acne have found them to have unremarkable effects, but surely in conjunction with salicylic acid, BP and some of the soothing botanicals in your product it could prove far more effective. i say your anti-androgenic botanicals have little effect because they have had no effect of my level of skin oil, and i see no reason why this should be if they did actually have any noticeable level of inhibition of DHT.

Dear John,

Thank you for your interest in our natural botanicals. Because of FDA regulations we would not be able to include synthetic medications in our topical OTC treatment without prior FDA testing and approval.

In our newest clinical trial on the efficacy of Clearogen acne lotion to block the metabolism of testosterone the results showed a 49% reduction. This study proves that the botanicals in our lotion are the most effective. If there were such synthetic compounds that were more powerful than the natural ingredients in Clearogen they would not be considered because to further inhibit the metabolism of testosterone to DHT could actually cause an underproduction of oil which is needed to moisturize and protect the skin.

If you feel that the oil on your skin has not decreased and you are not experiencing any sensitivity to the treatment you can increase your lotion application to twice daily.

Best of luck!
