All three of these products are similar in that they have a three step program consisting of a cleanser, a toner, and lotion. Proactiv did not work for me at all. Why is Clearogen any different from any other product?
At first glance Clearogen's ingredients do look similar to ProActiv's. The difference is that ProActiv only deals with Acne on a topical level. Their only active ingredients are the Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide which are used to kill bacteria on the surface of the skin, technically that's all their products do. Which explains why it only works for about a month or two. Those ingredients are also in Clearogen but in a different form, the Benzoyl Peroxide is micro-encapsulated for a slow delivery to the skin, reducing surface irritation and increasing effectiveness. Clearogen works to clear Acne on 3 different levels, it kills surface bacteria, reduces irritation and redness, but also blocks DHT (a natural by-product of testosterone) to regulate oil production. What's unique about our product is the last one. Most Acne products say that bacteria or clogged pores are the cause of Acne, which is incorrect. It's DHT that stimulates your sebaceous glands in the skin and cause it to overproduce oil. The excess oil on your skin collects dirt, clogging the pores and creating the perfect place for bacterial growth. Clearogen's ingredients include fatty acids that are able to penetrate your pores and your sebaceous glands to deliver key ingredients that block DHT. Once the oil production is controlled in the sebaceous gland, the bacteria is killed on the surface, and your skin is cleansed and well taken care of, you will see a significant difference in the way your skin looks and feels.
